Author Story Article Release

Hello author, on behalf of all the readers, we would like to discuss something about you and of course, your book as well.  This conversation will help reader to know more about you and your debut book. Please give answers in brief.

1 – Most welcome to Criticspace Journals, Author. We heartily congratulate you for being a published author. It’s really a great achievement. First thing, we would like to know about your basic info as a person, daily life, career so far and anything you would like to share about you with your readers.

Ans – Hello! Thank you so much for welcoming me here and for offering me this amazing opportunity to build a stronger connection with my readers. I am very grateful of the experiences I gained through the journey of becoming a published author. As you all know, my name is Harmeet Kaur and in 1999 when I married Jagdev Singh and had 3 children, I thought my career stopped there. I left the country where I was brought up (Punjab, India) to live with my husband in a beautiful flat in Greece. There is also where I am currently located while I work in a factory.

2 – That’s really great; please tell us something about your journey of becoming an author. When you actually started writing and how was the circumstance? Did any person or situation influenced you to write your debut book or was it your childhood hobby of writing?

Ans- Well, I always remember myself loving to write. It’s the best way to communicate with myself. I always calm down after writing down all my worries, but I never thought of starting a career surrounding it. I believed everything ended after my marriage. I got busy with housework and my children. However, I always shared my passion for my family. Taught them good values and even I learned new things from them. That’s how my elder daughter came with the idea to focus on what I love most: writing. At first, I denied it. “I cannot do that I am over the 40s, people will think I am crazy” was what I told her all the time. She never gave up though, she insisted I do it for myself not for anyone to show. So everything started.

3 –  Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly? Be descriptive please so that our visitors know about you a little more.

Ans- It depends on what emotions you are talking about. Anyone can start writing right away! But the thing is, you need to have motivation and desire. The desire to sit down and write endless pages and motivation to remind yourself what all of this is about. Other emotions will affect the way you write and what you write about. The stronger the emotions combined with a few skills, which anyone can acquire through experience, the better the ability to catch your reader’s attention! So yes, it’s not about what the feelings are but how intense they are.

4 – How do you come up with the titles to your books?

Ans – After completing the story or novel, I start thinking of a title that matches the content. Usually, I pick the ones that are more interesting to my children. If it can grab their attention, it will of my readers too.

5 – What, in your opinion, are the most important elements of good writing?

Ans –  Obviously good or bad writing is something only a reader can determine,  so it varies from audience to audience. In my opinion, good writing style would be a simply written story or text.

6 – What comes first, the plot or characters? How do you develop your plot and characters?

Ans  –  That’s a tricky question. Sometimes the plot comes first, then the characters. But the thing is that characters can help you in many ways to figure out how your story ends up! I am talking on behalf of my first book. In the next books, I may use a different technique who knows! 😆

7 – Are you on social media and can your readers interact with you?

Ans – Of course, I use social media, like Facebook and Instagram.

My readers can find me on Instagram at @gill2256 so that they can text me freely whenever they want.

8 – Please tell the reader something about your book. What is your message to those readers who have still not read the book? Why they should pick it up for reading?

Ans – My loved readers, this is the first book I ever wrote and I thank you so much for supporting it. New books are on the way and I hope to keep inspiring you in every way I can. To my future readers, this book was inspired by the thoughts I recently had on how technologies offered to us for entertainment purposes, social media, in other words, have affected our relationships with loved ones. Especially, the ones that concern marriages. Maybe after reading the experience of Preet in the online world, you will understand what new dangers and opportunities surround relationships in this new era of information and rapid changes in technology. Moreover, an English translation is on your way for those who cannot read Punjabi so stay tuned!

9 – And yes, the most important thing we would like to hear from you is what is your message to those new writers who have not yet started their journey of becoming an author? You have been their source of motivation, please convey your thoughts with them.

Ans – Future writers! If being an author is something that you want to be from within, I recommend you start right away! Even if you don’t complete your work in a day, a week, or a month it is important that you do take a step forward every day no matter how small it is. Write a sentence every day and eventually, you will have reached your goal. Don’t keep any desires or emotions trapped in your heart. Try to defend those desires with courage, bravery  and strong emotions. The secret is to never give up! Like the quote I saw many times on social media: Don’t say one day. Believe it’s Day One.

10 –  Would you rather be in a room full of snakes or a room full of spiders?

Ans – I think, I would rather be in a room full of spiders. Because I believe that spiders are easier to get rid off.

11 – Would you rather have an endless summer or an endless winter?

Ans – Well, because here in Greece when its summer the weather isn’t too warm nor too cold.. So I would rather have endless Summer.

12 – Would you rather have constant nagging pain or a constant itch?

Ans – I believe nagging pain is a better option. Because if I had a constant itch I wouldn’t be able to handle it. Also, with the nagging pain, your brain can get used to it.

13 – Would you rather always be an hour early or be constantly twenty minutes late?

Ans – I prefer always being an hour early because I don’t really like being late.

14 – Would you rather live in a haunted mansion or live in a un-haunted cottage?

Ans – Well.. Even though a mansion sounds really tempting, I will choose the cottage, because I can’t handle anything like ghosts or stuff like that 😅

15 – Tea or Coffee?

 Ans – I prefer tea

16 – Hot or cold?

 Ans – I like hot

17 – Movie or book?

Ans – Nothing beats a good book 🙃

18 – Coke or Pepsi?

Ans – Pepsi, because in my view Pepsi is more healthy than coke

19 – Morning person or Night owl?

Ans – Definitely a morning person

20 – Social Media or book?

 Ans – Book definitely

21 – Paperback or ebook?

Ans – Let’s say paperback… Because I can read it whenever and wherever I want to and it can’t ever be lost since we can always buy a new one. While on ebooks they can be deleted without your knowledge and you can’t read them without the internet unless you have downloaded the book, which also takes time, and if our phone or tablet runs out of battery we can’t read the book anymore….

All the best for your future and this book too! Thanks for answering our questions.
