Questionnaires:
Neel Preet: First of all, Big Congratulations to you on your book, “The Humble Wrath” you’ve achieved something remarkably huge! What responses are you getting from this book of yours? Please share your experience about this book.
Vandana Sudheesh: Thank you so much. Many of them have bought my book which is so amazing for me. They shared their reviews with me. It seemed that my poems could really touch everyone who reads it. The simple language was being used in my writings. So that it becomes easy for any layman to understand and feel what I have felt while writing them. The compliments which they gave were immense and I am grateful to all those who have been supporting me for achieving my dream.
Neel Preet: I’ve read your book and I genuinely feel that it’s a wonderful collection of “Emotional and Inspirational Poems” so my next question to you is that what inspired you to write these poems? What was the impetus behind this work of yours?
Vandana Sudheesh: I love hearing songs. So when I hear them I had a habit of writing them. After that, I will read it again and again to capture its real feel. Then I thought why can’t I write. Then I started scribbling some of them. But after a long gap, I started writing purposefully. Then it became a desire in me to become a poet. I would love to see my name printed on a book. So i thought of publishing my poems.
Neel Preet: You have given a very interesting title to your Poetry-Collection Book, which is undoubtedly very catchy so, what made you go for this title for your book?
Vandana Sudheesh: I always wanted my title to be unique and different. So I don’t want something to be so humble alone or to be revenge alone. Since I wrote on mixed emotions, I thought the mixing of both humility and revenge will do good. So I came up with such a name.
Neel Preet: Your poems talk about common life experiences which probably every regular person experiences and your composition seemed very relatable too. So, while writing these poems what was your mindset?
Vandana Sudheesh: Many things which I wrote was from my experience.I think due to that sole reason I was able to project it beautifully on to the paper. There was no particular mindset. What came to my mind I wrote it then and there.
Neel Preet: These days a lot of writers are coming out with their books but only a few of them come out with ‘Poetry’ which I believe is a bold step so, my next question to you is that why did you choose Poetry to express yourself? And why not Short-Stories when that too could have served the purpose?
Vandana Sudheesh: I think emotions can be better projected through poems. That’s what I believe. Its always good to hear songs rather than hearing stories. We can portrait a story in a single poem without losing any emotions. I am comfortable with poems more than stories.
Neel Preet: While reading your book, I found that your poems had some really strong emotions and stories inside them, which had greatly impressed me, and thus I would like you to explain the overall theme of your book!
Vandana Sudheesh: It has different astounding phases which include love, affection, sacrifice, pain, depression, revenge, and recovery. Each poem may be one’s story. I wanted to bring out all the emotions which happen in one’s life.
Neel Preet: Ma’am your writing seemed to be really impeccable and you were bold with your poems in your book, which I really appreciate. Therefore, I want you to tell us about some of those writers, who had inspired you and whom you follow!
Vandana Sudheesh: Two personalities have really inspired me a lot. Emily Dickinson and Rupi Kaur. I was too fascinated by Rupi Kaur’s collection. She is telling a story through her poems which is simple and full of emotions. The usage of idioms is fantastic. Emily Dickinson has a different way of forming sentences. I loved the way she makes it.
Neel Preet: Is there any message which you would like to convey to your readers? Or any piece of advice, which you would like to give to the readers out there!
Vandana Sudheesh: Yes definitely I have. Never keep your emotions inside you. Just pour it to whatever you can. Believe in yourself and work hard for your desire. Anything is possible. Stay happy and positive.
Neel Preet: Are there any other books being worked by you? Please let us know about your future projects.
Vandana Sudheesh: Two anthologies are out. One is Dhoni-an irreplaceable legend and the other one is Aroma of Notion. There are more than 30 anthologies that are coming out.
Neel Preet: Thank you so much for answering all my questions. All the very best to you for the future and your book too!
Vandana Sudheesh: Thank you so much for giving me such an opportunity.
