Author Story Article Release
Hello author, on behalf of all the readers, we would like to discuss something about you and of course, your book as well. This conversation will help reader to know more about you and your debut book. Please give answers in brief.
Most welcome to Criticspace Journals, Author. We heartily congratulate you for being a published author. It’s really a great achievement. First thing, we would like to know about your basic info as a person, daily life, career so far and anything you would like to share about you with your readers.
Your Answer: Thank you very much. I’m a counselling psychologist. Currently I’m working in a school in Bareilly, Bishop Conrad, and I also run my private practice. Along with this my family is currently caretaking an orphanage in Bareilly, where we live with small children and adolescents. This is a truly enriching part of my life.
I frequently engage in conducting workshops and talks on psychological issues, and I also make paintings as a part of my hobby.
My experiences with my clients and my personal life journey have greatly inspired the contents of the book.
That’s really great; please tell us something about your journey of becoming an author. When you actually started writing and how was the circumstance? Did any person or situation influenced you to write your debut book or was it your childhood hobby of writing?
Your Answer: I actually started writing this book 10 years back. But due to some or the other reason I kept getting delayed in completing it. My personal experiences and those of ones close to me influenced me to write this book. But I think I got the impetus to actually start writing it, when I had a very peculiar dream, which is the crux of one of the chapters of my book. I built the rest of the book around it.
Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly? Be descriptive please so that our visitors know about you little more.
Your Answer: Yes anyone can be a writer. Every perspective, every story is valuable. We can never say who will get influenced with what. There is no one on the planet who doesn’t feel emotions; even Spock does. Besides a good piece of literature doesn’t have to be necessarily emotionally driven, it can be very cognitive or factual as well.
How do you come up with the titles to your books?
Your Answer: It comes to me very intuitively. That inner voice that speaks to you.
What, in your opinion, are the most important elements of good writing?
Your Answer: Readability. If your readers can connect with your writing, I think it’s a good writing.
What comes first, the plot or characters? How do you develop your plot and characters?
Your Answer: I think both go hand in hand. As the plot furthers, the characters develop; and as the characters develop the plot gets directed.
Are you on social media and can your readers interact with you?
Your Answer: Yes, I am very much on social media and I’m also very accessible, through my Facebook page named ‘Anugrah’. I also have a YouTube channel on which I keep uploading videos on psychological topics.
Please tell the reader something about your book. What is your message to those readers who have still not read the book. Why they should pick it up for reading?
Your Answer: It is the story of a girl who attempts suicide and the experiences she has after that. The book covers a range of psychological issues, like depression, existentialism, homosexuality, suicide etc, through a narrative, the story of a girl. She attempts suicide and goes through an unexpected near death experience, that changes her perspective to the whole situation. I would thus recommend this book to anyone who has ever experienced any of these concerns. I do have confidence that it will change the way you see your circumstances at least a little bit, and consequently feel empowered.
And yes, the most important thing we would like to hear from you is what is your message to those new writers who have not yet started their journey of becoming an author? You have been their source of motivation, please convey your thoughts with them.
Your Answer: This is my suggestion- Don’t think far into the future or worry about the outcomes. Just take the first baby step. Write that first chapter, have faith that the rest will follow.
