Criticspace Journals: Welcome to Criticspace Journals, Author. Congratulations on the release of your book. What responses are you getting from your readers? Please share your experience with this book.

Shaheen Kazi: Thank you for your time. Cupid Arrow, well, cupid magic works on many different lovebirds.    While writing this book of poems, the experience was unique because I don’t want to write only for one type of lover. So I had tried to jot down the feelings in the form of poems. After all, Poems is the best means of expressing your feelings.

Criticspace Journals: What encourages you to become an Author?

Shaheen Kazi: For any author, Pen and Heart is the only tool that encourages them to sit up and empty their emotions.

Criticspace Journals: What are your favorite topics of writing? Please tell us something about your interest areas in the literature.

Shaheen Kazi: Ghost Spooky Stories are always on my radar. Love, horror and kids are my charms.

Criticspace Journals: We were hoping you could tell us about some of those writers who had inspired you and whom you follow!

Shaheen Kazi: Ever since I was a child, I’ve been a big Ruskin Bond fan. And I am sure that the children who read his book and grew up will agree with me. Ruskin Bond’s books had made our childhood very interesting, and he gave a beautiful vision to look at this beautiful world in a different imaginative way.    I never thought of becoming an author, but yes, the Ruskin Bond books are always on my shelf, making my time more colorful while reading it.

Criticspace Journals: The titles seem different and catchy; how you decided it? Please let us know the story behind it.

Shaheen Kazi: That was simple since Cupid Arrow was supposed to come out in February. And everyone knows that February month is always been dedicated to our cute Cupid.

Criticspace Journals: What are your achievements so far? Tell us something about your writing career.

Shaheen Kazi: So far, I had not achieved anything, always on the same wavelength while doing research.

Criticspace Journals: What is your current goal in writing a career? How do you see your future in writing?

Shaheen Kazi: My current purpose is to continue writing, hoping that my book will be in my reader’s library. It all depends on my readers, how they decided to design my future.

Criticspace Journals: Are there any other books being worked by you? Please let us know about your future projects.

Shaheen Kazi: ‘Age Was Just A Number’, a romantic novel, was released in 2020. And after one story, my book of poetry is right in front of you. There are too many projects to come, and every day I write a few lines in the hope of completing them.

Criticspace Journals: How you see Indian writing in the 21st century? What changes do you see in the modern way of writing? Do you feel it has been changed by the time?

Shaheen Kazi: Some things should stay the same, even with time. Writing never changed; yes, it just depends on whose writing.

Criticspace Journals: How easy/ difficult it was for you to publish your book? What message would you like to give to budding authors?
Shaheen Kazi:
There’s no such thing as free and easy. Even the Author has its stories too. Publishing a book can be easy when your editor understands your manuscript.  But yes, the central struggle starts after that because no one prepares the Author for this journey of effort that he/she sees after publication.

I want to say to my dear budding writers that your ink must never remain dry, even if you cannot make it.  You haven’t made it for some reasons, but there’s always tomorrow for you and me.
