Author Story Article Release

Hello author, on behalf of all the readers, we would like to discuss something about you and of course, your book as well.  This conversation will help reader to know more about you and your debut book. Please give answers in brief.

Most welcome to Criticspace Journals, Author. We heartily congratulate you for being a published author. It’s really a great achievement. First thing, we would like to know about your basic info as a person, daily life, career so far and anything you would like to share about you with your readers.

Your Answer: Thank you. Well by profession I am a design thinker and a digital marketer. By Education I am an MBA. I run a Digital marketing hub based in US and India. My daily life revolves around providing digital marketing strategic solutions to our clients around the globe. In my leisure time I paint and write short stories that are highly influence by everyday life. And hence, all my stories are based on slices of life.

That’s really great; please tell us something about your journey of becoming an author. When you actually started writing and how was the circumstance? Did any person or situation influenced you to write your debut book or was it your childhood hobby of writing?

Your Answer: Well… It was a roller coaster ride. It took two and a half years to complete the book. There were so many stories that came in my mind and died their natural death. I had self-doubts and fear if it would be prudent to publish the book at all. But there were people who had the belief that I should get it published. They cried, giggled, got shocked and surprised and their expression gave me the courage that the book is worth publishing. The original idea was to publish it as a graphic novel, however, I chucked the idea and only kept some illustrations. BTW the illustrations are also done by yours truly. While many illustrious writers influenced my early life as a reader, but I always wanted to tell my own stories in my own way.

Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly? Be descriptive please so that our visitors know about you little more.

Your Answer: Emotions sell. And when you are telling a story and cannot connect your readers emotionally, it fails the purpose. Think of it, how will a totally unromantic person direct a romantic rom com? Is it possible? Even if he directs one, will he be emotionally attached to the story telling? It is just not possible. Similarly, for a writer, he or she has to be a highly emotional person to bring out small nuances of life through their stories. At the same time they need to be emotionally strong to reject or accept their own story’s failure or success. Believe me it’s difficult as all stories are your own babies.

How do you come up with the titles to your books?

Your Answer: There couldn’t be any other title other than Stories Of Ur Life (S.O.U.L) as all my stories are slices of our life. But as you must have already read my book and have seen that every story has a twist to it. Hence the subtitle, Nothing is a simple as it looks.

What, in your opinion, are the most important elements of good writing?

Your Answer: Simple Language, less of jargon, engaging plot, less grammatical error (because it sometimes irks the Grammar Nazis and they don’t even read the stories).

What comes first, the plot or characters? How do you develop your plot and characters?

Your Answer: For me it is always the PLOT. I try to keep the plots as real as possible. To be honest my stories are all taken from slices of life and then I superimposed sci-fi over it. Characters are woven around the plots. But I have tried to keep them as real as possible. Because only real characters can bring up the right emotions.

Are you on social media and can your readers interact with you?

Your Answer: Yes I am on social media. Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and Twitter. MY also have my official Author page on FB as @authortridibghosh. My profile on FB, Insta, Linkedin and Twitter are all @tridibghosh

Please tell the reader something about your book. What is your message to those readers who have still not read the book. Why they should pick it up for reading?

Your Answer: Every day millions of people live their stories. Every moment is a story in itself. Their sorrow, fear, anxiety, love, heartbreak, fights, duties, achievements, failures are nothing but pieces of un-narrated stories. I have just tried to narrate a little bit of it with some imaginative twist in the tales. The figment of imaginations make one wonder are they as simple as they look? Welcome to S. O. U. L. “Stories Of Ur Life”, told by me. S. O. U. L is a collection of short stories that takes you through the biggest roller coaster ride called Life.

And yes, the most important thing we would like to hear from you is what is your message to those new writers who have not yet started their journey of becoming an author? You have been their source of motivation, please convey your thoughts with them.

Your Answer: Just write. Let your imagination flow. Let your stories get heard. Don’t fear if you would get praises or brickbats. End of the day it is your story. It is closer to your heart. Don’t struggle to use verbose jargons and complicated sentences to show your literary depth, in the process you will lose your own self, your own stories. However, keep a keen eye that your book is free from grammatical error. To many readers it is a big downer. Get it properly proof read.
