Akhila Saroha: I would like to begin by congratulating you on the publication of “Someone’s Rejection Can Make Your Life”. How has the response to the book been so far?
Shivangi Yadav: Thank you so much for your appreciation Akhila. The response has been heartening…. As my book is based on teenage changes, parenting, and how to cure yourself when you get rejected by someone. I have got few reviews. I was much surprised when I came to know that my father read my book and he liked it so much. His review is really valuable for me. Readers are showering their love towards me and their reviews driving me to come up with my second book.

Akhila Saroha: What led to the idea of writing such an issue that is pervasive in the lives of teenagers? Were there any events that inspired the work?
Shivangi Yadav: While writing this book, I was in a flow of my keyboard and the deepest brain.
I saw many teenagers both boys and girls in my school. Teenage is that phase of our lives where we are unable to conclude that what’s good and bad for us….Sometimes no one tries to understand our feelings or guide us properly. Thus, we get attracted to something wrong.
My perception is that it’s the responsibility of our teachers and family to cure and guide your children properly while they are in their teenage.
Yes, I too faced many challenges in my teenage and I got inspired so much through it. I would like to thank my parents and teachers who always support and guide me properly.

Akhila Saroha: Do you know any Arshi who has gone through the same circumstances as you have described in the book?
Shivangi Yadav: Yes I know, and maybe you also know her. There are many Arshi’s around us who are facing the same Situation in their life. I described here Arshi’s as a teenage but there are many Arshi who are in their adulthood too…

Akhila Saroha: What are your views about present-day writing? Do you think it does complete justice to the teenagers of today’s time?
Shivangi Yadav: Not more….but yes it does. Because we are only writers we can pen down our feelings and share it with the world but everything gets possible and favorable if our society changes our mentality. When they start discussing each and every topic freely with their child only then it will be justice for them.

Akhila Saroha: Are there any authors that you enjoy reading or any books which are your favorites?
Shivangi Yadav: I read every genre but mostly I prefer non- fictional motivational and spiritual books.
Acharya Jagdish Sharma Ji and Swati Naresh are my favorite authors.
Nowadays I have started reading fictional novels too.

Akhila Saroha: Do you think calling “Someone’s Rejection Can Make Your Life” a work that is relevant for people beyond teenage would be right?
Shivangi Yadav: yes it will…..because not only teens get distracted. Sometimes some peoples would get attracted in their adulthood too and takes a wrong decisions in their life which is not favorable for them along with their families too.

Akhila Saroha: Your writing has given a very strong introduction to your potential as a writer. Can the readers expect more from you in the future? Please share about your future projects.
Shivangi Yadav: yes sure….! Some of my loved ones say me to write in a different genre as Mythology based and thriller etc. Seriously I don’t know much about mythological stories but I am researching it through watching series and google. As you all know that I am a poetess too…so I am thinking to launch my poetry book too…..

Akhila Saroha: What is the story behind the title of your work, “Someone’s Rejection Can Make Your Life”?
Shivangi Yadav: Someone’s Rejection Can make your life is my debut book. The story revolves around a teenage girl named Arshi. The story begins with her dream. She gets distraught because there’s no one to guide her properly and you all know that distraction tends to happen in that age. After some time their parents concede and support her.

The story is fictional based and recommended for teenagers. Sometimes in teenage, teens take a wrong decision in their life and fall in love with a wrong guy. This story guides all those teens to learn by their mistakes.

In the story, you get romance, love, rejection, and a lesson also.

Akhila Saroha: How easy or difficult was it for you to create the character of Arshi and show her life as well as the problems she faces?
Shivangi Yadav: It’s not too difficult for me to create the Character of Arshi. I saw many teens and parents and in an indirect way, I researched them. I talked to them and then I determined to write something about it.

When I decided to pen down my feelings I didn’t get any problem to characterize her.

Akhila Saroha: In the present time, a lot is being written on teenagers and the burning issues that surround them. What according to you, can be the solution to handling them?
Shivangi Yadav: There is only one solution to handle it. Talk with them openly on every topic. Because if our elders guide them properly then they will never get distracted. In teenagers, there are several questions arising in their minds. No one is there for answering it.

Due to hormonal changes, they need someone with whom they can share their problems and feelings. But no one gives them the proper time. neither parents nor teacher then they start addressing it with their friends. and in peer pressure, they take big decisions in their life.

So it’s our elder’s responsibility to give proper time and guide their children.

Akhila Saroha: If you were to describe your book in a few words without giving any spoilers, what would those words be?
Shivangi Yadav: rejection is a part of our life to accept it and move towards achieving your goal.

Akhila Saroha: What according to you, are the other issues that confront the lives of teenagers? And do you think enough is being written on them?
Shivangi Yadav: there are several issues for example; sometimes family didn’t allow to pursue their favorite course and in pressure, they choose that course which is suggested by their parents. If they did it then they can’t give their best on it and you can see its impact on their marks.

Akhila Saroha: Thank you very much for sparing your time. I look forward to reading more books by you in the future. All the best.
Shivangi Yadav: Thank you So much Akhila for giving me this opportunity. I wish the same for you, dear.
