Questionnaires:

Neel Preet: First of all, Big Congratulations to you on your debut book, “The Rhythm To Soar you’ve achieved something remarkably huge! What responses are you getting from this book of yours? Please share your experience about this book.

Steffy Terrance: Thank you so much. It was an amazing experience, very liberating, I would say. I have been receiving a lot of positive responses saying the poems are heart-touching and on the cover of the book.

Neel Preet: I’ve read your book and I genuinely feel that it’s a wonderful collection of “Emotional Poems” so my next question to you is that what inspired you to write these poems? What was the impetus behind this work of yours?

Steffy Terrance: At the beginning of this book, I wanted it to be a collection of sonnets. But later I decided to include more musings and short poems, and also poems regarding the pandemic. ‘The voices at tussle to Guard’ is a poem dedicated to the health care workers as all of us are fighting the pandemic together. Most of it, is based on emotions all of us feel on a daily basis, or during some particular instances.

Neel Preet: You have given a very interesting title to your Poetry-Collection Book, which is undoubtedly very catchy so, what made you go for this title for your book?

Steffy Terrance: I wanted the title to be inspiring, and to say a message. ‘The Rhythm To Soar’ implies the rhythm or beat to fly. The ‘rhythm’ in the title is in connection with the poems, which have a natural rhythm. The title is also based on a poem which is included in the book.

Neel Preet: Your book is filled with some really attention grabbing doodles, so what made you take an extra step for adding these doodles alongside with your poems and what was your mind-set, while working on this book?

Steffy Terrance: I feel illustrations can add more effect to the message the poem conveys. I have to thank Silpa, who has illustrated the book beautifully.

Neel Preet: Not a lot writers and authors are coming out with Poetry Collection book these days while you did so, which I believe is a bold step. So, my next question to you is that why did you choose Poetry to express yourself? And why not Short-Stories when that too could have served the purpose?

Steffy Terrance: That’s a good question. I do like short stories but as I said earlier, poetry has a rhythm within it, like a beat. It is not bounded by a script. Short or long, these verses convey emotions appropriately.

Neel Preet: While reading your book, I found that your poems had some really strong emotions and stories inside them, which had greatly impressed me and thus I would like you to explain the overall theme of your book!

Steffy Terrance: The theme of the book is “The seed sown at warmth reforms to harvest”. The book is divided into four sections, each of them implies different emotions. It starts off with some sonnets while the last stage is ‘The Harvest’ which completes the theme of the book. The book includes a combination of love poems, but at the same time it sheds light at solitude and pain.

Neel Preet: Your writing seemed to be really impeccable and you were bold with your poems in your book, which I really appreciate. Therefore, I want you to tell us about some of those writers, who had inspired you and whom you follow!

Steffy Terrance: I feel like each writer has a different style of depicting stories, or emotions. I have enjoyed the works of Paulo Coelho and Vikram seth. Classics by Sarojini Naidu have also inspired me.

Neel Preet: Is there any message that you would like to convey to your readers? Or any piece of advice, which you would like to give to the readers out there!

Steffy Terrance: This book is for all poetry lovers out there. There are poems which tell pain, hope and solitude in the book. I hope you can resonate with the poems and the message conveyed.

Neel Preet: Are there any other books being worked by you? Please let us know about your future projects.

Steffy Terrance: There is something interesting coming up. I have been working on it. Although, I can’t disclose as it is on the initial stages, I can confirm it will be based on poetry.

Neel Preet: Thank you so much for answering all my questions. All the very best to you for future and your book too!

Steffy Terrance: Thank you so much. It was wonderful talking to you.
