Swapna Peri: Hi Neha! Congratulations on your book, Zubaan-e-Kalam. Our readers want to know about you. Can you tell us about yourself apart from whatever mentioned in the book?’’

Neha Singhal: Firstly, I would like to thank you Swapna for giving your precious time to review my book. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Evincepub team for doing such a wonderful work and turning my dream into reality.

Talking about myself I would say that I have my own dreamy world where I listen to the rhythms around me, be it the naughty laugh of my children, the chirping of birds, the sound of trees,  the tiny dew drops,  the rising sun or the temple bells. Everything around me inspires me to write and sail with their flow.

Swapna Peri: How did poetry happen? What really made inspired you to write poetry?

Neha Singhal: I feel writing is the best way to bring out our emotions. I simply penned down what I felt and came up with Zubaan-e-kalam.

Swapna Peri: What is the genesis for Zubaan-e-Kalam?

Neha Singhal: There is so much happening around us. Sometimes it is difficult to express in words what we feel about any incident or situation. But at the same time it is also important to let your thoughts out. In my book I have only written what I felt or what I could empathize about a person who could be in the situation imagined in every poem and that is where this book originated.

Swapna Peri: I really like your writing style and the words used in penning every poem. It is smooth, appealing. How did this style of writing strike to you?

Neha Singhal: I tried to use the words which are generally spoken by the masses but at the same time the words should leave an everlasting impression on the readers. Hence, a blend of Hindi and Urdu appeared apt to me.

Swapna Peri: What are your favorite poems in this book? And why?

Neha Singhal: Every poem in the book has its own rhythm and theme. However,  I like all of them as I have not only written them I have lived those moments while writing them. If I have to choose among them then my favourite ones are सफ़र, भोली सी लड़की, बेटियाँ and पंथी as these poems have the colours of innocence, love, emotions and determination.

Swapna Peri: What is the easier and difficult poems in the book?

Neha Singhal: I feel once you connect with your reader there is nothing difficult. I tried my best to connect thoroughly with my readers so I don’t find any poem difficult in the book.

Swapna Peri: Do you think that a poet either he\she must be practical or emotional to write poems about life experiences?

Neha Singhal: It is very important to keep a balance between the emotions and the practicalities of life. As an author my efforts are always to gel these two in the best possible way.

Swapna Peri: As a poet, what responsibilities do you think you have when you write?

Neha Singhal: As a poet I always prefer to write in a soft and gentle manner without offending anyone’s feeling. I think it is very crucial to take care of the sentiments of the society while conveying your opinions and thoughts.

Swapna Peri: How do you think in this age of the English language reigning mostly the Indian Books a book on Hindi poetry will make a difference?

Neha Singhal: Poetry itself is a language of emotions and expressing them in any language will always make a difference.

Swapna Peri: What is that in poetry that really attracts and pleases you? Who is your favorite poet?

Neha Singhal: Any poetry which has the flavour of simplicity and are grounded always please me. There is no specific choice for poets or their poetries. The poetry which connects my heart and soul are always admired.
