Most welcome toCriticspace Journals, Author. We heartily congratulate you for being a published author. It’s really a great achievement. First thing, we would like to know about your basic info as a person, daily life, career so far and anything you would like to share about you with your readers.

Your Answer: Thank you so much for this recognition, Dr DV is just a common man like every one of us. I am currently working in a Solar Energy Company Asmi Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd. as Technical Head. I have completed B.Tech, MBA & PhD in Power/Energy. Yet, since my school days I loved to scribble and may be because of that I was able to write my debut Hindi Novel “Sapne Sach Aur Udaan”. I am born in Delhi and presently working in Mumbai.

Writing has been a great companion of me since my school days. I never thought of becoming a writer or winning any award in writing during my school days as none of my family member or school friends had any idea of this creative field. But when I entered into ‘Limca Book Of Records’, I started believing in dreams.

That’s really great; please tell us something about your journey of becoming an author. When you actually started writing and how was the circumstance? Did any person or situation influenced you to write your debut book or was it your childhood hobby of writing?

Your Answer: I was listening to our History teacher inside the classroom, and as I had no interest in the topic, I was feeling sleepy. As a kid I had fascination towards reading comics and I used to read a lot of comics either in rent or borrowed from friends. On that day I scribbled my first short story ‘The Story of a child’ (In hindi) and from there on this never ending journey started. Prior to writing this debut Novel, I had written a lot of poetry and short stories and this is to take my writing to next level.

Do you think someone could be a writer if they don’t feel emotions strongly? Be descriptive please so that our visitors know about you little more.

Your Answer: Feeling emotions and crafting them into stories are two major attributes of a writer. A writer will always be sensitive and emotional, whether he or she will express it openly or not, it will be a different subject altogether. Emotions includes love, hate, loneliness, togetherness and what not, a writer feels them all. Not just as a writer but even as a human being we all feel the emotions, it is just that we ignore or learn to ignore these emotions or its effect. Writer only choose to pen it down or craft it in a different way which we call poetry, stories, painting and other creative languages.

How do you come up with the titles to your books?

Your Answer: There is no fix process to this, because a writer’s mind works 24 x 7. The ideas keep on coming in the mind. Sometimes a situation gives birth to a title and sometime a title gives birth to a book. This is a process that can be instinctive or can be properly planned, but it is really hard to make it a set process because title can be based on experience or based on the message the writer want to pass on or an emotions that need exploration. The Title of my Debut Novel ‘Sapne Sach Aur Udaan was based on experiences, but title of my few poetry books were instinctive. Hence it is like a mix bag and an interesting process to be in.

What, in your opinion, are the most important elements of good writing?

Your Answer: The word good is always relative. The ‘Theory of Relativity’ we study in physics but its application is really wide in our life. A good writing is subjective because a subject that might strikes my mind may not even tickle you. Or if someone has experienced something similar to the plot then it connects instantly. Even the art of story-telling is again a different thing and can be done in a multiple ways. I mean the story can be in first person, third person or can be portrayed as a dream or what not. In midst of so many ideas exposed to that readers it is really difficult to create a hard and fast rule or structure for good writing. The only thing that I can think of is that if the subject is easily relatable then it would be considered as good subject to how it is presented to the reader. Is it easily predictable or it creates suspense, it tickles you or makes you serious, these are few things that makes the book interesting and may be related to good writing, Yet, subjects are subjected to the author imagination, experience and message he or she want to pass on keeping in mind the audience he/she want to target.

What comes first, the plot or characters? How do you develop your plot and characters?

Your Answer: Plot is an integral part odf stories because a writer may imagine around 1 or 2 major characters but then to support them he/she need to develop new characters and to do this the plot needs to be clear. It is not necessary that the writer has to be crystal clear on it but even a rough idea will be wonder and then the story can be stitched together.

In this story I had 5 characters in mind but then to keep them together there has be a reason and from there I started thing about a lot of things that cleared the plot. Normally in a story we think about 2-3 main characters, but I always wanted to connect the dots and to connect the dots we should have more dots and it is not just this Novel, next novel might have connect from the first one and that how it looks so different and so amazing. All these things I had though prior to writing the story and then I had sketched few things that made this debut Novel a reality.

Are you on social media and can your readers interact with you?

Your Answer: Yes I am in Facebook as DrDiwakar Pokhriyal, In twitter as @poetofsenses,

In Instagram as DrDV and also I have my you tube channel as Creative Energy in which I discuss about poetry and more.

Please tell the reader something about your book. What is your message to those readers who have still not read the book. Why they should pick it up for reading?

Your Answer: This book is about dreams and achieving the dream through hard work along with team work. But in this journey, the characters realise a lot of things about life and relationships. I am sure, when you will read this Novel you will experience that roller coaster journey of the characters. From extreme love to hate, to failure to success, the journey will definitely connect to the readers in one way or other. Out of 5 characters, I am sure at least 1 character you will live or must have been with in your life and this will make this story even more interesting.

If you are interested in reading a story that revolves around true experiences, problems, inspirations and achieving the dreams, yet feeling empty I am sure you should give it a read and give your view on my social media handle, I would be waiting for the reviews.

And yes, the most important thing we would like to hear from you is what is your message to those new writers who have not yet started their journey of becoming an author? You have been their source of motivation, please convey your thoughts with them.

Your Answer: The most important thing for the aspiring writers should be to keep writing and keep reading. Keep an eye on the grammar part too.

Never think about fame, but think about your story, more you think about your story more you will refine it and more improvement will be there in you and your writing. Always remember success never comes easy, we might hear stories of ‘One Night Success’ but all these stories has a long history that no-one knows. So concentrate on writing, reading and networking, rest the time will take care of.

Best of Luck to all aspiring writers!
